Sports and Me

When I was in elementary school, I did not like physical education at all and sports activities did not appeal to me at all. My parents did not live together, but I liked them and they liked me. My parents were close and I enjoyed being friends with them. It is probably every child\’s dream that their parents would divorce and become friends. I would also like to explain and tell you why my parents were upset that I did not enjoy gym class because my father was a competitive athlete in elementary and middle school. My mother did the exact same thing. And then there is the fact that my parents had just met at an athletic event.

Cyklistika mě moc baví.

It was quite a paradox that my mother won first place in the girls\‘ division and my father also won first place in the boys\‘ division. It was kind of really interesting, and I think it\’s great. So my parents thought that because they were both athletes, they were both so perfect, and they both excelled in athletics, that a kid like me would get into athletics and I would actually inherit that. But I definitely did not enjoy it. I preferred riding my bike, but that was it. Then when I made a best friend in college, she loved rollerblading. I decided to actually give that a try.

Dívám se na cyklistické závody.

So. I\’m really into it. Of course, cycling is a sport I really like, so I kept riding my expensive bike. I\’ve never done it competitively, nor have I ever wanted to do it competitively, but I\’ve always enjoyed it and I can boast that I\’m really perfect at it. I can also say that although I was really good at cycling, I never had any desire to play the sport or race. My parents always blamed me for that. If I had worked harder and joined a cycling club or team, I could have been somewhere else than where I am now.
